Consists of perfectly eliminating subgingival tartar from the root using ultrasound and periodontal curettes. The aim is to eliminate both the cause of the inflammation (the bacteria in the microfilm contained in tartar and plaque) and the collateral damage of the inflammation (the necrotic and inflammatory tissues of the connective tissue). Recommended in cases where periodontitis is mild or moderate.
